A graveside service for Peggy Jean Pembleton, 96, of Enid, Oklahoma, will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, November 10, 2025, at Memorial Park Cemetery with Hagen Jackson officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Peggy Jean was born June 17, 1929, in Capron, Oklahoma, to Isaac Preston and Marguerite Elizabeth (Craig) Julian. She graduated from Enid High School and went on to receive a degree in Home Economics from Oklahoma State University. Her passion for education continued as she pursued Early Childhood Development Certification at Oklahoma City University.
Peggy Jean made a lasting impact in her community as the founder of the Kindergarten Program at North Enid Schools. A dedicated educator, she believed in the power of a good education for all and was incredibly proud of the fact that all of her children earned college degrees.
A strong and independent single mother, Peggy Jean's love for her family was boundless. She raised her three children-Karen, Susan, and Glen-with unwavering support, always encouraging them to reach for their goals. Peggy Jean was a proud member of HEC (Home and Community Education Organization), and in her free time, she found joy in quilting, a craft she cherished.
She is survived by her children: Karen Stegman and spouse Allen Stegman; her children, Tabitha, Allison, Katherine; seven great-grandchildren, Hunter, Wyatt, Adrian, Mackenzie, Braxton, Olivia, Madison. Susan Anderson, and Glen Julian, and his children Paige and Ethan; five great-grandchildren Ariel, Benjamin, Callie, Jamison; and her beloved dog, Roxie.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Dale Pembleton; and brother Calvin Lee Julian.
