A Celebration of Life service for Robert Wayne Sharp age 70 of Ames will be 2:00 pm Friday, April 10, 2026 at Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev. Vernon Lee officiating. Burial will follow in Ames Cemetery under the direction Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Robert was born April 6, 1956 in Alva, OK to Frank and Ruby (Crusinbery) Sharp and passed away April 6, 2026 at the Oklahoma Heart Hospital in OKC. He attended and graduated from Carmen-Dacoma High School in 1974. Robert enjoyed playing Legion Baseball. He graduated from Oklahoma State University in 1978 with an Agriculture Education degree. He started his teaching career in Ames in July 1, 1978 retiring from Cimmaron Schools in 2007. His passions where teaching kids about life, caring for animals, and showing livestock. He continued to raise sheep and helping his many nieces and nephews.
Robert received many awards which include 25 years of leadership and service from The National Association of Agriculture Educators and Silver Key Award from the Oklahoma Association of Career and Technology Education.
Robert was passion about sports and especially Oklahoma State Cowboys. He enjoyed visiting with the guys at the Ames Quick Shop every day. He served on the Ames Volunteer Fire Dept for 20 years.Robert is survived by his siblings; Wilma (Calvin) Fleming, Glenda Lewis, Betty (Edward) Shelley, Roy Sharp, Larry (Berlene) Sharp, Bill (Angie) Sharp, Gary (Janelle) Sharp, Mary (Chris) Maltby, and Connie (Sam) Flaming, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Ray, sister in law Jody, and brother in law Larry Lewis.
Memorials may be made to Ames Fire Department with the funeral home serving as custodians of the funds.
