The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 pm on Tuesday, September 19th at the funeral home.

Orie Dean Robison was born June 8, 1930, in Enid, Oklahoma, to Thomas Robison and May (Jenkins) Robison, and passed into his eternal home on September 13, 2023.

Orie’s first three years of life were spent on the Robison Homestead, land his great-grandfather had claimed in the 1893 Land Run. His family moved to a farm located between Salt Fork and Hunter, Oklahoma where, along with fifteen other children, he attended the one-room Valley Forge school. Later, his family moved to Salt Fork where Orie attended grade school, and then began high school at Lamont. Orie was actively involved in all sports and band and graduated from Lamont High School in 1948.

Orie married his high school sweetheart, Nadean Lousie Kirby, in 1950. They lived on a farm located between Billings and Garber, Oklahoma. In 1952, their favorite daughter, Kathy, was born. In 1953, they moved to Enid where Orie started working at the Champlin Refinery. In 1954, their favorite son, Mike was born. The Robison family joined the Davis Park Christian Church, and Orie took an active role in the church serving as a deacon, elder, and a member of the church board. Later, they joined the Oakwood Christian Church, where Orie continued his service to the church.

Over a 33-year career at Champlin Refinery, Orie progressed from janitor to maintenance manager. He joined the Petroleum Refiners Association and represented Champlin at the National Petroleum Refiners Association meetings. He gave presentations on different programs Champlin Refinery had successfully implemented. When Champlin’s Enid location was closed, Orie was transferred to the Champlin Corpus Christi refinery. He and Nadean moved to Corpus Christi, but after retiring, returned to Enid where they enjoyed following their grandchildren in Oklahoma and California in their activities. Orie and Nadean enjoyed 57 years of marriage until Nadean passed away in 2007.

Orie is survived by his children, Kathy Cole and husband, Tom, of Wichita, Kansas; Mike Robison and wife Donna, of Ringwood, Oklahoma; his grandchildren, Kirstie Giannola and husband, Rick; Thomas Cole and wife, Tamsin; Jared Robison and wife, Jennie; and Toby Robison, and wife, Sara; great-grandchildren, Adelyn and Tommy Cole; Riley Giannola; and Sloan and Coen Robison. Each of us will miss our dad and papa’s support, love, insight, and advice along with his sweet smile, wonderful sense of humor, and incredible tenacity. Special thanks to the Golden Oaks skilled nursing staff which gave loving care to our dad.

Orie was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Nadean; his parents, Tom and May Robison; brothers, Gary and Loren; and his sister, Roberta Allen.

In lieu of flowers, you may honor Orie with a donation to Oakwood Christian Church, Hospice Circle of Love, or Our Daily Bread, with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
