A Celebration of Life service for Roger Lynn Sharkey age 73 of Enid will be 11:00 am Wednesday, June 24, 2026 at Ladusau-Evans Chapel with Rev Susan Southall officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Roger was born May 26, 1953 in Enid to Leonard E. and Peggy B ( Freese) and passed away June 8, 2026 at his home. He attended Taft Elementary, Waller Jr. High where he was Student Council President, and graduated from Enid High School, where he was a National Merit Finalist, Oklahoma Boys State, and All-School Play Lead. Roger later attended Oklahoma State University, where he received OSU President's Scholarship, USWA Statewide Scholarship, 35 hours by Standing Tests, Sigma Chi Fraternity Treasurer, and OSU Yearbook Editor. Roger graduated from Oklahoma State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree and Architectural Studies. He later attended Oklahoma University receiving a Juris Doctorate Degree, College of Law and was in Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity.
Roger worked as a postal clerk and route carrier, data controller for George E. Failing Company. He later was associated with Carter & Carter practicing in trial, civil, criminal, property, taxation, workers compensation, personal injury and many others.
He was a member of Christ Methodist Church, and former member of YMCA Expansion Fundraising Drive, Salvation Army Educational Project, Republican Central Committee, Gaslight Theater, Explorer Scout Post Co-Sponsor. Roger ran for State Representative Republican District 41 in 1982.
Roger enjoyed visiting with his family over the years.
He is survived by all his cousins from the Freese, Sharkey, and Bandy Families.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother Steven Sharkey.
