Roland "Big Mac" Glenn McIntosh passed away on April 3, 2026, in Montgomery, Texas, at the age of 80, with his son by his side.
Roland was an intelligent and curious man with an irreverent sense of humor. He served proudly in the U.S. Army from 1966-70 as a signal's intelligence officer, after which he went on to graduate from Oklahoma State University with a degree in electrical engineering technology. After returning home, he began his career as an electrical engineer and started a family. He later joined the Foxboro Company in Foxboro, Massachusetts, as a principal instructor of industrial controls systems. He greatly enjoyed his work at Foxboro and remained there until his retirement.
Roland found love again later in life, marrying Elizabeth Abney in 2004, in Houston, Texas. Together, they enjoyed spending time with family, dining at Clay's restaurant, and dressing up to play Mr. and Mrs. Claus at Christmas. Roland had a deep appreciation for computers and enjoyed making jokes. He had a special love for his dog, Petey, and his cat, Molly. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Jane Abney (nee Reeve); half-brother, Monte K. McIntosh; his mother, LaVerne McIntosh (nee Gaines) and father, Raymond Lewis McIntosh. He is survived by his son, Roland McIntosh, of Austin, Texas, his daughter, Megan McIntosh, of Bierbeek, Belgium, and sister Beverly McIntosh.
