A memorial service for Sharyn Dunlap will be at 1:00 Friday, October 24, 2025, at the Longdale First Baptist Church in Longdale, OK with Luke White officiating. A private burial will be scheduled at a later date. Cremation arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory.
Sharyn Mae Dunlap, daughter of Flossie Naomi (McCollum) Boatwright and Harold Carl Snedeger, was born October 18, 1943, at Woodward, and passed away September 26, 2025, at Tulsa, at the age of 81 years, 11 months, and 26 days. She attended Woodward Public Schools but later received her GED after moving to Alva.
Sharyn was joined in holy matrimony to Howard Leon Dunlap on December 17, 1960, at the Otterbein United Methodist Church in Alva, OK.
Sharyn and Howard welcomed three children into their family Tina Eileen, Brian Lee, and Scott Tyler.
Sharyn enjoyed crafting of all kinds, drawing, painting, and crocheting. Sharyn spent many years babysitting, working at the Deveraux's Meat Packing plant, and working at Oklahoma Glass and Wallpaper. Some of her best years were spent attending all of her kids activities, and later her grandkids. She enjoyed working and coordinating with Operation Christmas Child. She spent many hours crocheting and knitting socks, hats, and blankets for kids all over the globe.
Sharyn was extremely proud of her journey becoming a Christian and was saved and baptized later in life. She and Howard attended the Bible Baptist Church of Alva. This is where Sharyn was saved and later baptized on November 27, 1997. She and Howard later became members of the Longdale First Baptist Church in Longdale, OK. She held steadfast to joining Jesus one day and being made a new, which is what carried her through for several years of battling pain and declining health. Her greatest wish was for all her family and friends to find Jesus, so they would all be united again one day.
She is preceded in death by her parents: Harold Snedeger and Flossie Boatwright, her sister, Shirley Janow; her brother, James Boatwright; her nephew, Randy Janow; and her grandchildren: Cayle Dane Broughton and Chesney DaNae Broughton.
She is survived by Howard of the home; children: Tina Broughton and Chad (husband), Brian Dunlap, Scott Dunlap; Niece: Debora Janow; Grandkids: Trilby Land and Jeff Voyles (fiancé'), Ashlee Cunningham and Clayton (husband), Audrey Dunlap and Kyle Irvin (fiancé'), Blake Dunlap and Jayden Solberg (fiancé') Brinley Dunlap. Great grandchildren: Tucker, Talon, Taytum and Taige Cunningham and lots of nieces, nephews and cousins.
In lieu of flowers, the family request that memorial donations in Sharyn's name be made to the Kids Korral Toby Keith Foundation, or the Operation Christmas Child through Samaritans Purse, with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
