Wilda Croft

December 24, 1938 — December 13, 2025

Wilda Ilene (Forrest) Croft, age 86, of Enid, Oklahoma, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at her home in Enid.

Wilda was born on Christmas Eve, December 24, 1938, in Vici, Oklahoma, the daughter of Harold Wayne (Bill) and Rosetta Ruth (West) Forrest. Wilda was the third child of ten children.

It was Wilda's wishes to be cremated, so there will be a Celebration of Life at future date, (early spring) in Enid, Oklahoma, at the Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel. Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home and Crematory of Enid oversaw cremation arrangements.

Early years the family moved several times; Follett, Texas to Laverne, then to Sharon until final move to Vici, Oklahoma. Wilda started attending Vici School in third grade and graduated from Vici School in 1957, while also attending First Christian Church of Vici.

Wilda married Terry L. Turner on July 7, 1958, in Enid, Oklahoma. From this union four children were born; Tammy Gayle, Gayla Dawn, Kristi Lynn and Terry Ronald. This marriage ended after sixteen years. On January 31, 1985, Wilda married Richard Dean Croft. This marriage ended by Richard's death on December 20, 2011.

Wilda was a stay at home mom and homemaker for 12 years. She took a job with United Van Lines as a moving packer (1972-1975). After a few years of working at Circle K, she got a job at Ramada Inn as a housekeeping manager, holding this job for many years. After her marriage to Richard, they resided in Medford, Oklahoma, where he owned the Croft Car Dealership to Guthrie, Oklahoma, where Wilda then started doing dealer trades. She loved the travelling around the U.S. Wilda quit doing dealer trades after Richard's death. She worked about a year at Braum's until she retired.

Wilda had many childhood memories; playing basketball with her brothers until it got too dark for them to see the ball. The family owned a horse named Lady when they resided in Sharon, Oklahoma. Wilda stated how smart Lady was. She said Lady could count and knew all of the kids. Lady would give all of the kids a ride, but after all the kids rode her once, she was done. No second rides!

Wilda spent most of her summers growing up staying with her grandmother Zoe West. Wilda helped her work her garden and helped her can the fruits of their labor.

During Wilda's single years, her and her girlfriends loved to go dancing. It was on the dance floor at the 300 Club in Enid where Wilda met Richard. Mom and Richard continued to go dancing early on in their marriage. They were both OSU fans and attended almost all OSU home games. They also enjoyed occasionally going to the casino. Wilda will be greatly missed by family and friends.

Wilda is survived by her daughters, Gayla Johnson and husband Jeff Johnson of Chandler, AZ, Tammy Turner-Lee of Edmond, OK, and Kristi Turner of Enid, OK; grandchildren, Jason Parker, Meriah Burnett, Kevin Chinn, Jeremy Johnson, Ashley Jander and James Turner; great-grandchildren, Isaiah, Hannah, Ava and Malachi Burnett, Briley, Kyndal and Gavion Parker, and Savannah Chinn; one great-great-granddaughter Wrenley Parker; Brother-in-laws, Steve Care and Bud Sutton; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins.
