Memories of Leora

I must have been pretty young when occasionally I would be left at the little farmhouse on what is now Holden Road with Leora, probably with my sister Jeri.  But it was a treat for me because I loved Leora's piano, and her songbooks, and I would beg for her to get out her accordian.  Which she would, and she would play a little bit, then let me sit on sofa and show me how to play.  I was oblivious to the fact that she was probably very busy with not only her own children but my siblings and me, but she was indulgent and I think pleased to see how much I loved her music.

Then here so close to the end of her life here on earth it was such a privelege to take Jan to visit her at GOaks. We visited probably an hour and a half.  She was so happy to have us, but so open in her desire to go on to her next home where she could be reunited with Jake, sisters and parents.  "With long life shall I satisfy thee and show thee my salvation" was a promise she realized.  She was truly satisfied with her life, well accounted for in her multiple photo albums, and assured that her salvation was without a doubt in place, so proud of her children and their lives.
