Billy Boyd  Cornett
A Celebration of Life and Remembrance for Billy Boyd Cornett, age 85 years, of Enid, is 10:00 am, Friday, October 23, 2015, at Central Christian Church, Enid, OK. Reverend Don Johnson will officiate. Burial will follow at 4:00 pm in Higgins Cemetery, Higgins, TX, with Military Honors provided by the United States Army Honor Guard. Visitation will be from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm, Thursday, October 22, 2015, at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel, Enid, Ok. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home. Billy passed away Monday, October 19, 2015 in Enid.

Billy was born July 29, 1930 in Leedey, Oklahoma to Samuel Boyd Cornett and Jessie (Robinson) Cornett. He was one of eleven siblings! He grew up on the family ranch near Cheyenne, OK. Following high school, he proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict from 1952 to 1954. After returning home from his military service he married the love of his life, Virgie Pyeatt on September 3, 1955 in Leedey.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Virgie Cornett, sisters, Lois Fuller, Edith Snell, Naomi Sullins, Ruth Cheateaux; brothers, Paul Cornett, Glen Cornett, James (JD) Cornett and Bobby Cornett.

He is survived by two sons, Don Cornett of Follett, TX; Rick Cornett and wife Teena, of Enid; two daughters, Linda Anderson and husband Danny, of Canyon, TX; Debbie Basquez and husband David, of Amarillo, TX; sister, Eunice Mangold and husband Jake, of Amarillo, TX; brother Jesse Cornett and wife Carol of Littleton, CO; eight grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and many other friends and family.

Memorial contributions may be made to Central Christian Church or The Wounded Warrior Project with Ladusau-Evans serving as custodian of the funds.
