Obituary for Allen Gene Nichols

Allen Gene Nichols
A Celebration of Life service for Allen G. “Babe” Nichols, 79, of Enid is 2:00 pm, Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Mr. Michael Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Allen was born on September 12, 1938 in Okemah, OK to Burl and Clemia (Avery) Nichols and went home with Jesus August 4, 2018 after a long battle with cancer. He attended schools in Drumright, where he met his sweetheart, Laura McCoin, and graduated from Drumright High School. Allen and Laura were married September 27, 1957 in Sapulpa at the First Baptist Church.

Allen and Laura made their home in Enid and had 3 children. He worked in the oilfield seven days a week providing for his family. He enjoyed playing pool as well as going to the lake to boat and ski. He always enjoyed gardening and after he retired, he developed a love for golf. Allen was a wonderful cook and the family loved his brisket, fudge and chocolate cake. He will be greatly missed.

Allen is survived by his wife, Laura and three children; sons, Michael Nichols, Steven Nichols and daughter Debbie and Ira Smith; seven grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; brother, Eddie Nichols and wife Nancy; as well as nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Burl D. Nichols and Harold W. Nichols.

Memorials may be made in Allen’s name to Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation - Cancer Division with Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home serving as custodian of the funds.
