Obituary

Celebration of Life service for Alvin Leon Roelse, age 83 will be 2:00 pm, Saturday, March 7, 2020 at Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home Chapel with Rev Jim Edmison officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery under the direction of Ladusau-Evans Funeral Home.

Alvin Leon Roelse was born May 6, 1936 in Douglas, OK to Arthur Roelse and Ruth (Boepple) Roelse. As a young child, he held the reins of a horse and helped his father plow and plant on the farm. He graduated from Oklahoma State University and began his career as an electrical engineer in Richardson, TX. He then became a space pioneer electrical engineer for Lockheed Electronics and later was a supervisor over many products including communications systems sent to the moon. He was a member of IEEE receiving many awards. He was a great family man always encouraging his children and grandchildren to excel in their education.

His hobbies were fishing, gardening and making videos of family and friends’ activities. He was a quiet man when it came to his illness, never asking for pain medicine which exemplified his great strength and his love for Jesus as his savior. He taught Sunday School classes for many children giving of himself as always.

He is survived by his loving wife, Beatrice (Cross) Roelse of the home in League City, TX; three children, Michael Roelse and Debra, of Pottsboro, TX; Gary Roelse of Manvel, TX; and Deborah Lucas and husband Paul, of League City, TX; three grandchildren: Holly Ruhl, Sarah Roelse and Joshua Lucas; two great grandchildren: Desmond Ruhl and Aurelia Ruhl; his sister, Margaret Graham.

Memorials may be made to America’s Blood Center and the Wounded Warrior Project with Ladusau-Evans as custodian of the funds. Condolences may be sent to www.ladusauevans.com .
